More about The Socratic Experience (3rd- 12th grade)
TSE is a virtual school designed to help each child discover and develop their personal genius. Our program combines a liberal arts core with daily Socratic Humanities and STEM problem solving with a self-paced math program and tutors. Wednesdays are devoted to electives, which include many courses for entrepreneurial and creative students, including digital skills such as software development, audio engineering, video production, generative AI, game design, etc. We also offer high school credit for real world experiences and any online college course. Students meet with a mentor who helps them plan a personalized program aligned with their post-high school goals.

Prenda helps caring, inspiring adults start in-person microschools of 5-10 learners. In these tight-knit learning communities, students experience personalized, mastery-based academics and inquiry-led, collaborative learning. Parents select nearby guides from our microschool marketplace or work with Prenda to create a microschool that meets the needs of the children in their community. Through our research-backed learning approach, students develop strong academic skills as they explore their interests, collaborate, and lean into the joy and wonder of learning.
✨ About your speakers ✨
Kaity currently serves as Prenda's Chief Empowerment Advocate. Since 2018, she's helped pioneer Prenda's unique microschool-based learning model and philosophy as Head of Learning. Prior to Prenda, she was a Speech-Language Pathologist, literacy coach, homeschooler, and curriculum designer. Kaity is the author and creator of Treasure Hunt Reading, a (free!) literacy program that is transforming literacy education worldwide. She's a certified peaceful parenting coach and mom to 4 Prenda kids who love their microschools.
Michael is the founder of The Socratic Experience, a virtual school for students grades 3-12. He is one of the most experienced designers of innovative school programs in the United States. His projects include a school for highly gifted children, a top-ranked charter high school, and the high school model for the largest Montessori network in the US. He has decades of experience getting students into their target universities and other post-secondary programs. He is the author of The Habit of Thought: From Socratic Seminars to Socratic Practice and the lead author of Be the Solution: How Entrepreneurs and Conscious Capitalists Can Solve All the World’s Problems.
